R&D / applied research / small-series production

Octoglass combines in-house R&D with a production base: we run R&D and applied research on electrochromic systems, glass products, and glass processing. We develop and adapt solutions to the customer brief — from lab work to pilot samples. After development we can close small-series production of the agreed technology on our own site. That keeps the chain from research to part to small lot with one contractor and clear ownership of the result.

R&D, applied research, and small-series production

Octoglass runs R&D and applied research on electrochromic systems, glass products, and glass processing. In-house R&D sits on a production base: research and engineering are not detached from real process stages — cutting, finishing, bending, lamination, and multilayer assembly. For the customer that means a short path from a clear brief to a checkable sample, not a split “lab here, plant there” subcontract.

A typical request starts with clarity of goal: what must be researched, which technology should reach a pilot, or which part must be proven in hardware. We help narrow the brief to an executable scope — without promising specs that are not yet in the data, and without vague timing. When chemistry, optics, and glass processing meet, we shape the route so critical risks surface early.

Small-series production is the natural follow-on: once the technology is agreed, Octoglass can run a limited lot on our own site. That suits pilot projects, OEM validation, and first deliveries where a large series is not yet needed but quality and repeatability already matter. Small series here is not a craft workshop — it is a production loop with clear lot and accountability boundaries.

A short task description, available inputs, and the expected outcome — report, prototype, pilot, or small series — are enough to start. Related services (chemical synthesis and purification, licensing, equipment) can sit in the same enquiry if you are building a full loop around an electrochromic or glass technology. Exact scope and timing are locked once inputs are agreed.

Inputs

Brief, drawings, samples, or material and application constraints.

Expected outcome

Report, prototype, pilot, or small series — what the handover should be.

FAQ

What information do you need to assess an R&D / small-series request?
Briefly describe the task, share available inputs (brief, drawings, samples), and state the expected outcome: report, prototype, pilot, or small-series production.
What does small-series production mean in this service?
It means small-series production: manufacturing a limited lot of an agreed technology at Octoglass after development or adaptation of the solution.
Which areas do you cover with R&D and applied research?
Electrochromic systems, glass products, and glass processing — backed by in-house R&D and a production base.
Can we discuss the task before a formal request?
Yes. Email sales@octoglass.ru or use the contacts page — we will help clarify fit and the inputs you should prepare.

Have a project?

Send a drawing, model, photo, or technical brief. We will assess feasibility and propose a process route.
