Octoglass electrochromic glass in the FilmLess configuration is thicker and heavier than original automotive glazing. That raises questions about the durability of spacers and window-regulator mechanisms. To address them, we run cyclic testing: raising and lowering FilmLess glass with standard window regulators. To pass the test after 11,000 cycles, the glass must show no damage, the window-regulator mechanisms must remain in working order and able to lower and raise the glass, the spacers must have no visible defects, and the glass must remain firmly secured in the spacers. Over 2.5 weeks the test rig completed 11,000 cycles and finished successfully.
