The system of electronic darkening of bulletproof glass, which does not bring additional distortion in the glass thickness of 4 centimetres and can stop even ammunition from a large-caliber rifle, is categorically important both on vehicles with hidden armor, and on military equipment, where reliable light disguise is important.
In 2019, Octoglass presented the world's first bulletproof glass for a car at the largest armament exhibition EDEX using a proprietary electrochromic glass transmission control system. The novelty aroused genuine interest among professional visitors to the exhibition.

The application of electrochrome technology in bulletproof glazing has the same advantages as electrochromic glazing for motor vehicles: additional comfort and safety, both during the day and at night. But, in a protected vehicle, it is often necessary to protect people in the front seat as well, to make them invisible from the outside. In this case, electrochromic tinting will help. At the right moment, the glass can be tinted and the potential attacker will not know how many people are in the protected car and where they are directly located. At the same time, at dusk, the glass can be tinted and the driving itself can be secured.
The electrochromic layer can be placed in any part of the bulletproof glass unit. When placed in the outer layer, the total thickness of bulletproof glass is additionally hidden. But electrochromic technology is not only used on civilian protected vehicles. The technology is also used on military vehicles, primarily to ensure reliable light masking of protected vehicles. Such a problem is very relevant, since the use of conventional curtains, which can be carelessly curtained or simply torn, threatens to disguise and then destroy the vehicle.
